You think the best type of workout is one that completely exhausts you. A workout that changes the body must get your heart rate up, get your muscles burning, incorporate resistance and increase body temperature. Most people focus on getting “breathless” and miss the other components. Get your muscles burning and make them work under weight and you will notice your body starting to change.
✅ THE MUSCLE CONFUSION MISTAKE
The idea that your workout should ALWAYS be different is ridiculous. The only thing muscle confusion does is confuse your muscles how to grow. In order to look different, you need progressive overload on the same muscles again and again each week.
✅ THE CIRCUS WORKOUT MISTAKE
I call them circus workouts… It’s jumping around from one useless random exercise to the next while watching your heart rate dance around on a screen. These workouts are not effective and you are likely to be disappointed. Stick to the basics.
✅ THE ISOLATION MISTAKE
You think the best workout involves isolating certain muscles. It’s the compound movements that work multiple muscles and multiple joints that create the greatest change. Squats, deadlifts, presses and rows are perfect examples.
Try getting out of the group exercise room, get off the cardio machines, and lift. Start eating right, get your muscles working and burning, lift weights using compound movements, and you will start to see changes!
